Detectors

Below are the specifications for the GM-10, GM-45 and GM-90. Each detector as available with either an RS-232 (serial) or USB interface.

In a nutshell, the difference between the GM-10 and GM-45/90 is the size of the detector. The surface area of the GM-45 detector is 24 times as large. This means that it is much more sensitive for alpha and beta radiation, and somewhat more sensitive for gamma / x-ray radiation. That is, it will be able to detect much smaller (weaker) levels of such radiation. And the GM-90 has two of the detector tubes used in the GM-45, for twice the sensitivity.

GM-90 Specifications

Identical to the GM-45, except the GM-90 has two pancake detector tubes, for twice
the sensitivity of the GM-45.

GM-180 Specifications

Identical to the GM-45, except the GM-180 has four pancake detector tubes, for four times
the sensitivity of the GM-45, and the enclosure is larger.
