Nuclear Radiation Detection Mailing List / Users Group

There is a mailing list / user group for users of our radiation detectors. This is a great place to ask questions, as well as share information with other users. You can join the radiation_detection - Nuclear Radiation Detection group by visiting

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/radiation_detection

Another option is to chat with other people interested in radiation detection via International Relay Chat (IRC).

Joining the chat is fairly easy. You can use the online chat below until you get an IRC client. The Java chat requires a browser with Java enabled.

Click here to be taken to the #Radiation chat There are many free and low cost IRC clients out there.

For windows, here are some IRC clients:

For the Macintosh, Snak and Colloquy are popular.

Next, you'll need to tell your client to connect to the Zirc network, which is where the #Radiation channel is hosted. Some clients will already have the addresses for the Zirc servers built in. If so, select one of them. If not, you'll need to add one or more.

irc.starchat.net is a good default server to use.

Next, have your client connect to the #Radiation channel. Once you're there, feel free to introduce yourself if you're new to the channel.

There may not be much activity on the channel at certain times of the day, so you may need to wait around for others to join the chat.
