Playlist causes crash in 3.9.6 Lite
November 18, 2009 03:39AM
I have just installed and registered Soundbyte 3.9.6 on a Windows XP Professional SP3 Dell Lattitude 630 and I have had a few problems which I would like to report.

I have created a test playlist using some of the built in windows sounds. Very simple with just a few small wav file sounds. However when I load the playlist into a cart, either by drag-drop or by using the file open button on the cart, it causes the following error message to be displayed.

"An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down."

When pressing the OK button the application closes.

If I open the playlist and press the play button the playlist plays all of the sounds perfectly OK.

I can send you the playlist via email if it would help, but it just contains six of the sounds from the Windows directory such as ys.wav and newalert.wav. I have tried different wav files and this does not make a difference to the fact that it crashes.

Regards,

Chris

OK, I've replicated that crash - it only appears to happen when you have the "load sound files to RAM" option in preferences set. I'll fix it for the next release, but in the meantime, you can uncheck that option if you need to load playlists into a rack.
