Problem on original Intel MacBook Pro (2 replies)

I'm having an odd problem with the CI-V interface using my MacBook Pro. This is an Intel machine, so I downloaded the latest FTDI VCP drivers (2.2.10) for Intel.
The cu.serial device shows up correctly when the interface is connected, but none of my software (MacLoggerDX, flDigi) is able to talk to the radio. It seems that the device is opened OK, but the software is not able to handshake with the radio. Now, this situation contrasts with my desktop machine (an Intel Mac Pro) which has the exact same 2.2.10 drivers installed, and where all my software quite happily works with the same interface/radio.

At this point I'm not sure what to try next, so I'm fishing with ideas. I could maybe try older drivers (perhaps 2.2.9) to see if 2.2.10 introduced a bug that somehow prevents the device from being controlled correctly on the MacBook Pro hardware.
