Here are some things that stop almost all the Betas

By George W. Dowell

12 sheets of paper.
2 thin sheets of copper (.005")
2 thin sheets of fiberboard
1 Fiberglas-epoxy PC board material, no copper covering .060"
14 inches of air
5/8 " of plywood
2mm aluminum
the thinnest lead sheet I have

Just a quick series of tests but fun. When 2 thickness are listed, it indicates a substantial amount of Betas get through only 1 sheet of that material.
